Today's Task
- Mobile audit. Open every page on your phone. For each:
- Is the text readable without zooming?
- Are buttons large enough to tap easily?
- Does the navigation work?
- Do images load quickly?
- Is the CTA visible without scrolling?
- Cross-browser check. Open your site in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Note any layout issues.
- Content proofread. Read every page out loud. Catch typos, awkward sentences, broken links. Check that all phone numbers and email addresses are correct and clickable.
- The trunk test (from Don't Make Me Think). Print your homepage (or hold your phone at arm's length and squint). Can you quickly identify:
- Site name/logo
- Page name
- Main navigation
- The primary CTA
- "You are here" indicator
If any of these aren't obvious at a glance, fix them.
- Ask someone outside your business to complete one task on your site: "Find out what we do and contact us." Watch them (or ask them to screen-record on their phone). Where do they hesitate? Where do they get confused? That's what you fix.
Output: A mobile-ready, cross-browser-tested, proofread website with at least one user test completed.
